STRUCTURAL INSULATED PANEL DIMENSIONS
Thickness: 150mm & 180mm thick panels are available 1.2m wide up to 6.5m in length.
INTERNAL/PARTITION WALLS:
Basic stud frame construction with 11mm OSB sheathing board to both sides. Accoustic insulation where needed.
EXTERNAL WALLS & ROOFS:
Panels supplied, fixed & finished with breathable membrane externally to provide weather tight finish.
THERMAL PERFORMANCE
150mm SIPs structures will give a U value of up to .18W/sq.mK with 180mm SIPs giving up to .15 W/sq.mK.
FIRE PERFORMANCE
The SIP's exceed the Building Regulations / Standards requirements with regards to fire resistance. It achieves 54 minutes fire resistance and structural integrity when internally lined with 12.5mm thick standard plasterboard and 73 minutes fire resistance and structural integrity when lined with 12.5mm thick fire resistant plasterboard when tested in accordance with BS 476: Part 21: 1987.
RESISTANCE TO AIRBORNE SOUND
Field tests to BS EN ISO 140-4: 1998 on separating walls, externally faced with 12.5mm plasterboard, 19mm gypsum planks and 9.5mm plasterboard to each wall panel achieved an average sound reduction of 58 dB.
A laboratory test on a single wall panel with no internal dry lining achieved a sound reduction (Rw) of 31 dB.
RESISTANCE TO SOLVENTS, FUNGI & RODENTS
The Insulation core and facings used in the manufacture of SIP’s resist attack by mould and microbial growth and do not provide any food value to vermin.
